If there’s anything worse than men wearing skinny jeans, it’s men wearing plaid skinny jeans. I strictly believe that no one should subject oneself to wearing plaid bottoms unless a) you’re a Japanese schoolgirl, or b) you’re a supermodel, in which case you could probably pull off almost anything.
It’s already 2009, and when I went out yesterday to attend mass, I saw people wearing their new clothes. I could tell it was new because there’s a certain glow to it, like in soap commercials where they wash a shirt and just to prove how powerful the detergent is, it sort of glows. That’s how their clothes looked like.
While I was walking on my way to the church, I saw a group of young teenagers, mostly boys, who wore identical black and brown plaid skinny jeans. Their hair were neatly combed onto one side, with a massive amount of hair product to keep it in its place, all were wearing black shirts, pants, fake hi-cut chucks.
It amazes me how much Pinoys become a slave for fashion, especially the young teens. It doesn’t even matter how much money one has, or whether or not he could afford the original brands. Pinoys have a knack for putting together different pieces that look okay actually most of the time.
Unfortunately, the case of the plaid skinny jeans on those teens is not one of those times. Hey, maybe I could write about an outfit teens these days could actually pull off. It’s a new year anyway.
