Rihanna and Chris Brown’s concert last night was a perfect opportunity for me to take a good look and observe the kind of crowd there. It was my first time attending a concert of RnB artists. I usually go to rock events and gigs, so I’m more used to see and be seen with people who wear simple vintage shirts and chucks.
Last night, I was sort of surprised and amused with a lot of people’s getups, especially the women. I didn’t realize they could be such peacockers, although I doubt if you could call them that, and if women still need a label for dressing up outrageously.
But anyway, there were just women who wore outrageously inappropriate clothes. And inappropriate not just to the even, but to the Filipino culture as well. Call me prude, but I don’t think wearing extremely short shorts and extremely tiny shirts is appropriate outfit to gig. The men look surprisingly normal. Jeans, sneakers, shirt, waxed hair. It’s the women who surprised me.
